I was a huge fan of RollerCoasters 1 and 2 and was crestfallen when my laptop wouldn't run them without glitches Windows Vista , so I was excited to see this at such a great price.
I must say, I don't think I could have made a better upgrade myself. It has all the great elements of the older versions: great buildability, lots of scenario gameplay, thoughts and actions of guests and now employees!
The menus aren't too much different and I am picking up the changes pretty quickly. As a twenty-something girl with a childlike spirit and obsession with customization, I LOVE that you can create your own families to tour the park.
And I love the new addition of the ride-cam. I expected something more like the SimCoaster ride-cam that I had 12 years ago, and this is 10 million times better. My 60 year-old father another fan of the series got a huge kick out of it and I expect is ordering his own soon. I suspect the gameplay would be slightly overwhelming to someone who has never played the series before, but I imagine the tutorials would be a great help I chose to skip them. By far one of my favorite childhood games.
It is hard to find a game that both indulges time in entertainment as well as satisfy the brain in creativity. If you're looking for a game to play for countless hours or simply to pick up when you have some time to spare, then look no further.
Roller Coaster Tycoon has multiple games and challenges that will keep you busy as well as an open sandbox world where you can simply create to your hearts desire. It is fun to see families enter and exit your very own theme park with the gratification of making a profit and continuing to expand your park. You can add some already pre made coaster or literally start from scratch.
Designing the blueprints to the park from the floor, to the workers you hire, to even the price of a hot dog is simply amazing. Two thumbs way up! Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 is an amazing game. It works perfectly on our Windows 7 computer. Here are the pros and cons: Pros:Fun, large park, cool rides, lots of scenery, coaster cam ride your rides , ability to let people ride your rides, ability to design buildings, ability to light up the park at night, can toggle through day and night, cool themes, ride events, terrain shaping, not forced to do the tutorial, create your own scenario, crash rides, funny peep reactions, and some water rides even without the soaked expansion pack.
Cons: occasional freeze, fps slows down the bigger your park gets, unable to fix stalls if they break down, multidimension coaster always crashes into the start light which is unrealistic, not so good cslculations on water rides, not so many water rides without an expansion pack.
Overall, this game is still cool! But it has it's flaws. My first impression is wow, quite a big difference from RCT2.
The 3d graphics are nice but it runs slow on my machine with a 3. Game play is great and it's easy to spend quite a few hours before you know it.
The interface in my opinion could use some work, it's filled with more options and things to play with. But it seems cluttered and a pain sometimes to get things done.
I let my little brother play with it and it doesn't take much time to learn how to play. He also complained about the interface, but I had to use a crowbar to get him off of the computer after a few hours of playing. Great game! But anyways lets start off with the game case, i received mine in a standard dvd case i was a little disappointed because the case in the picture looks really classy and nice to display on your shelf but not really a big deal.
I was a little more upset looking at the back of the cd case, it looked like it was printed didn't really like that at all, and there was no manual so if you don't know how to play the game, play the tutorial first. But you will not regret buying this game its good to play anytime especially if your power went out during a storm or something you can play it on your laptop untill your laptop dies of course lol.
One person found this helpful. Game was just as advertised! The game experience is something like this: You build these monolithic roller coasters and amazing theme parks until your eyes bleed! Then after about a month you get bored and start picking the guests up and throwing them in water or building rides without end pieces so they crash and realize that no matter how hard you try, you cant kill your guests. It then goes on a shelf for a while until one day you write an amazon review that rekindles your interest and you start playing again.
Would recommend. This game runs great on this system with all the graphics set to max. Everything is crystal clear, almost like looking through a window into a new world. The only time I see any frame rate slow downs is when some of the senerio's go from day to nightime. On my desk top Alienware Aurora with Two Ati 's this is not a problem. Buy this game especially if you have a high end system. You be surprised with the beautifull graphics the game offers. See all reviews.
Top reviews from other countries. The game works fine so far which is the most important thing. Delivery time as expected and it is in decent condition. Issue is it is a copy for use in Thailand which means the manual is written in Thai only which is an obvious problem when I don't read Thai and means it has zero resale value when I have finished with it.

It brings the fun of owning an amusement park right to your computer, with a sandbox game mode for those who want to create with unlimited money, and a career game mode for those who want a challenge.
You can create and ride your own roller coasters and other rides to your park, and add themes as well! Also, roller coaster tycoon manages to bring a very helpful tutorial to it, allowing you to know exactly what you are doing.
